Women of Noble Character

Through the efforts of their program, A Meal A Day Coalition, volunteers and ministries in the community, this fund has grown to assist the community by helping to supply meals seven days a week.  They help the community in other ways as well by distributing sleeping bags, tents, airfare for people to return to their families, referrals for housing, and partnerships with local dentists to offer free dental work for community service. Partnerships with other agencies and ministries have assisted distributing over 900 toys and helping over 200 families for Christmas.

This fund is constantly in need of clothing, hygiene products (bath wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, soap, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, etc.),  blankets, sleeping bags, and tents. Visit www.womenofnoblecharacter.org for a calendar of events.

Women of Noble Character is based on the principles of Proverbs 31:10-31 and was created to encourage women to display and uphold a moral and ethical quality of excellence. We also encourage them to love and appreciate themselves the way they are uniquely designed. This is especially important when 80% of women say that the images of women on television and in movies, fashion magazines and advertising make them feel insecure. But for teenage girls, it’s an even more prevalent issue.
Statistics say 1 out of 5 teenage girls will experience depression before reaching adulthood and that more than half of teenage girls are, or think that they should be, on a diet. They also say that 7 out of 10 teenage girls believe that they are not good enough or don’t measure up in some way including their looks, performance in school, and their relationships with friends and family members. These young girls are faced with low self-esteem and negative body image which often times leads to abuse, teen pregnancy, STD’s, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, and suicide. Many also lack the support and proper role models to assist them in becoming strong, confident young women.
To address this problem, Women of Noble Character has fashioned a 3 day conference titled “Show Your Hearts Not Your Body Parts”. For the first two days the focus is on such things as “What God says about you”, “Self-esteem”, “Abuse”, “Purity”, “Proper manners/etiquette”, “Financial Literacy”, and “Job Interviewing skills and Dress”. The third day is devoted to the girls receiving free makeovers, including hair and dress, followed by a formal banquet that includes a promise ring ceremony. After the conference, each girl is partnered with a mentor that will assist and encourage them as they continue on their journey.
You can make a difference. We are only able to do this because of the generous donations we receive from caring people like you. By giving a generous donation of $50, you can sponsor a young girl to attend this conference and help us to prevent another statistic.
Your donation can be received at  The High desert Community Foundation c/o Women of Noble Character 16020 Apple Valley Rd. Ste. B6, Apple Valley, CA 92307.  Your donation of any size will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless!
