Victor Valley Arts and Education Center

As a California 501c3 public service nonprofit, we have many ways to serve our community. Victor Valley Arts and Education Center (VVAEC) has a rather grand vision of bringing a new era of arts and culture to our High Desert community by one day building the first-ever dedicated, state-of-the art performing arts complex here.

But we also want to engage in an aspect of our nonprofit goals that involves the educational part of our name and mission. To that end, we are developing an Adult Literacy Program called “EACH one / TEACH One.” This does not detract from our vision of what the arts can be like in the High Desert; rather, we want to do something that will positively impact our community in a different way.

Our pilot program will be held at Hesperia Senior Living, a low-income senior housing complex. Our goal is to bring our tutors into an existing facility – a housing complex, agency, recreation center or senior citizens’ center… to offer adults a chance to enter the world of literacy by learning to read or to improve their reading and comprehension skills.

PARTNERSHIPS:  OUR goal is to partner with other nonprofits and social service programs to bring our Adult Literacy Program to the learner. We want to take the program to the people in need so that transportation is not an issue. We need volunteers to help with the tutoring and to help organize and manage the program. And we need your financial support. Please join us!

We hope you will take a closer look at our literacy program concept.
